Join us for a discussion with Michelle Parks, Senior Program Specialist from the Office of Victims of Crime, on the topic of Crime Victim Rights, Crime Victim Compensation and MOVANS.

This presentation will discuss the Crime Victim Rights Statute 595.209. Every victim has the right to be heard and deserves to be heard. We will address when Statute 595.209 became law; when victims’ rights apply; and what the rights of victims are in Missouri. As one of the rights, a victim has the right to be informed of the availability of Crime Victim Compensation (CVC). We will explore this program and provide eligibility information. The Missouri Victim Automated Notification System (MOVANS) is the statewide victim notification system regarding custody status and/or court event information.
