What is DMC?

DMC is the disproportionate representation of youth of color in the juvenile justice system.

Disproportionality exists when the proportion of minorities in contact with the juvenile justice system is different from their proportion in the general population.

Federal Statute requires states to address DMC as one of the four core requirements that were added to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act in 1992
