MJJA Seeing Nomintation for Board and Leadership Teams 1/11/2010
Dear Member of MJJA:
May of 2010 ends the term of service for many MJJA Board Members and Leadership
Team Members. Therefore, we are seeking nominations of potential candidates.
This is an exciting opportunity and we hope that you will assist MJJA in this
effort by nominating yourself or someone else to serve.
When thinking of possible candidates, you might consider co-workers as well
as people who are not necessarily involved in juvenile issues, but who would
be interested and willing to share their skills. We would like to engage people
who have skills in public education and fundraising, including individuals from
the corporate sector. Those individuals do not need to be current members of
MJJA but do need to be willing to join. We hope to present a slate of candidates
that has a diverse set of skills, high energy and is geographically and culturally
representative of Missouri.
The following describes both MJJA service opportunities:
Board of Directors
The Board is a governing body, consisting of up to 15 individuals. Board members
serve for three-year terms, and can be elected for two consecutive terms. Board
members meet quarterly and generally a full day (including travel time) is required.
Additional information about the responsibilities of the Board of Directors
is available from MJJA.
